There’s no better place to learn how Ocean City grew from a small fishing village to a premiere resort destination than here at the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum. The original Life-Saving Station was built in 1878 and was used to prevent ship disasters and to rescue and provide aid to those shipwrecked. Along with learning about the station itself, you can also explore their permanent collection of exhibits. Sands From Around the World can help you discover which beach has sand that looks like pepper, The Boardwalk of Yesterday allows you to see nostalgic boardwalk scenes, The Aquarium Room is a saltwater exhibit that contains two 250 gallon and many smaller aquariums filled with interesting creatures indigenous to the Ocean City waters, and there are many other permanent exhibits to explore. Special exhibits like the Little Keepers Day Room/Play Room, an interactive children’s discovery room where kids can play and learn what it was like to be a Surfman in the U.S. Life-Saving Service, are also available. Standing just seven blocks from the Ocean City, Maryland / Delaware State Line, DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum is the perfect place to see, and feel, some of the most famous shipwrecks. Delmarva’s Maritime past of shipwrecks and piracy is vividly brought back to life here at DiscoverSea Museum. Surrounded by wildlife in the heart of the Atlantic Flyway, the Ward Museum features the world’s largest and finest public collection of decorative and antique decoys. With its 4.5-acre waterfront facility with 12,000 square feet of exhibition space, the museum is nothing but fun the entire family can enjoy. Adults can enjoy woodcarving club, a winemaking night, bead-weaving workshop and a photography workshop. If you’re looking to “have a ball” Old Pro Indoor Mini Golf is just the place for you and your family. Family-owned and operated, Old Pro, founded in 1965, offers two great indoor courses that are open year round. 68th street has an Undersea Adventure course while 136th Street has a Safari Village course. Elaborate themes, mechanized figures and obstacles, creative and challenging hole design and extensive use of water and landscaping are the keys that make an Old Pro miniature golf design unlike no other. One game is $8.50 per person and unlimited play is $12.50. Kids under 3 play free and seniors 65 and over get $1 off single price. Other specials vary and accommodations can be made for groups.

Looking to channel your artistic side? The new bayside Ocean City Center for the Arts might just be where you need to go! The facility features a spacious two-story gallery, a pottery studio, classrooms, art library and five working artist studios. The galleries display new exhibits of regional and local artists monthly. Exhibits kick off each month with an opening reception from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. The receptions, as with all activities such as oil painting classes and more, are open to the public. The Art League provides a yearly calendar on their website of all events so you can either plan ahead or check up what event is going on that day.
